STAIRS RANGE

CLOSED RISE

Closed rise stairs create a solid, enclosed look. Typically the preferred option when stairs are passing above rooms or if wanting to maximise storage options below.

CUT STRINGER

A cut stringer staircase uses a saw-tooth cut support board where the treads and risers sit directly on top. This style exposes the profile of the steps and creates a traditional staircase appearance.

CLOSED STRINGER

Closed stringer stairs conceal the edges of the treads and risers inside the stringer board. This produces a clean, refined finish and is often used in more modern designs.

OPEN RISE

Open rise stairs do not include vertical riser boards between each tread. This creates a light, open feel and allows more light to pass through the staircase.

CUT STRINGER

With open rise stairs, a cut stringer shows the stepped profile while supporting the treads from below. This style combines traditional construction with a more modern, airy appearance.

CLOSED STRINGER

An open rise staircase with a closed stringer hides the step edges inside the side supports. This provides a cleaner architectural look while maintaining the open design between treads.

MONO STRINGER

Mono stringer stairs use a single central structural beam rather than two side supports. The treads appear to “float” from the centre, creating a sleek, modern aesthetic often used in contemporary homes.
